Daines & Hathaway | Shoe Shine Kit | $189
Hey, it’s a shoe shine kit. I’d love to say something witty and insightful about it, but… It’s a shoe shine kit. It comes with two brushes, two tins of polish, and a cloth. You could buy the same products from Kiwi at CVS, but they wouldn’t come in a nice leather bag. Well… That’s all there is to say about that.

Allen Edmonds | MacNeil | $325 $249
These are probably a bit more formal than the usual fare that graces the pages of this esteemed blog, but I would be doing you, dear reader, a disservice if I didn’t post this deal. Indeed, $250 doesn’t seem like much of a deal at first glance, but considering the facts that (A) they are discounted from $325 and (B) they will literally—and I know how to use the word “literally”—last you for the rest of your life, I would say it’s a pretty good one.
Furthermore, if you’re like me, you’re probably considering your wardrobe for an upcoming summer internship or job. I would recommend a shoe like this if your employer endorses the amorphous “business casual” standard. If more formal, I’d stick with plain or cap toe oxfords; more casual, perhaps some desert boots, or, well… Whatever you want, I suppose.

Common Projects | Achilles Summer Edition
Along with boat shoes and driving moccasins, clean white sneakers are among the most highly credited shoes a stylish man can wear during the summer. Just don’t wear socks—Gold Bond is your friend—or you’ll look like a dweeb.

Fred Perry | Wardour Canvas Shoe | ~$80
These are pretty fresh. I wouldn’t get the white ones, though. If you’re going to get a white canvas sneaker, I think it’s best to stick with Jack Purcell or Keds… Yeah, everyone has them, but everyone has them because they are classic and awesome. Anyway, the navy and olive versions of this Fred Perry shoe would make an excellent choice for those upcoming summer weekends.

Gourmet | Quattro Skate
If you are trying to look a bit more like a grown-up, but don’t want to give up your sneakers, it makes sense to go with a clean, minimally-branded shoe like this one. Gourmet makes many such sneakers; I highly endorse them—they can be a pain in the ass (or, rather, a blister on the foot) to break in, however.

Pointer x Comme des Garçons | Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
Not much to say here, just some solid and stylish sneakers and loafers by Pointer with a little bit of help from Comme des Garçons… They look great, but a bit on the spartan side, which isn’t typically CDG’s style… Perhaps they have some silly prints on the lining, who knows?
