Andtie | Necktie Scarf

Not sure how I feel about this piece… It’s edgy and original and interesting, but there is something about it that says: Trying Too Hard. Here is my reasoning… Fashion is all about expressing yourself, right? Well, what does making this scarf look like a tie add to the expression of your self? Corporatism? Stodginess? There is nothing positive I can think of that making a scarf look a tie would communicate, except perhaps quirkiness and contrarianism, virtues which I believe cannot stand by themselves.

Maintaining a buzz cut during the winter in Los Angeles is no big deal since the coldest it ever gets is 65, and that only lasts for like two weeks. Philly is a different story. I’m finding myself faced with the necessity of wearing hats, and it sure is difficult to find ones that will keep you warm while not making you look like an idiot. I think these fit the bill, though… At least the dude in the picture is looking pretty fresh.
