Strangely, I wasn’t a big fan of this song the first few times I listened to it. It wasn’t until—I’m about to show my true bro colors here—it popped up on my iPod in the middle of a pretty intense workout that I took a liking to it. I guess it goes well with elevated heart rates.

Listen to it on some headphones or speakers with bass if you can; the tinny MacBook speakers don’t do it justice.

MR PORTER | The Way I Pack

This is an interesting, if somewhat unrealistic, glimpse into the thought processes that stylish dudes go through while packing. The first thing I noticed is that they all have beautiful luggage that makes my Tumi T-Tech look like a Hefty bag. Oh well. I hate packing. Hate, hate, hate it. If I’m going out of town for a weekend, I won’t start packing until 45 minutes before I’m supposed to leave for the airport. If it’s a more extended trip, I might start the night before.

Contrary to most, it seems, I’m a huge fan of checking everything you can. I really enjoy going through security with one bag and not having to worry about whether the TSA agent knows that the limit on liquids is actually 3.4 oz. (100 mL), not 3.0 oz. Though I’m sure I’ll change my mind if/when I wind up stranded in a strange city with no luggage.

As far as tips go, I only have a few: Wear your heaviest/bulkiest shoes. Get a Kindle. Always bring swim trunks. No one really cares about whether your liquids are in a clear plastic bag. And bring a headphone splitter, in case you make a new friend.
